School Fees
Tuition fees are charged at all ESF schools and are to be paid in full and in advance. On offer of a place, parents will be asked to make a payment to ESF of approximately two months’ fees in advance. This amount will be advised to parents at the time the offer is made. It should be noted that this advance fee is forfeited if the place is not subsequently taken up. After your child’s enrolment the advance fee will be deducted from the first statement of account.
Fees are adjusted annually to meet the needs of development and inflation and parents are informed of changes in fees as soon as Government authorisation is received by the ESF.
Parents are billed for each term’s fees before the start of the term. Fees may be discharged either by meeting the whole term’s fee in advance or ten monthly instalments, also payable in advance or by autopay. In very exceptional circumstances, and only to prevent hardship, the ESF is permitted to grant a Government allowance towards fees for children who could not attend another type of school in Hong Kong where education is available either free or at a reduced fee. The purpose of the allowance is to assist parents who encounter sudden and unexpected difficulties after admission. Therefore, applications cannot be made prior to admission and allowances are only granted if a family’s circumstances have changed after admission.
